Wudhu

Wudhu

Ya Rabb let me learn to do my wudhu
The way I’m really supposed to do
I abide by its shariah
I need to imbibe its haqiqa

Ya Rabb let me learn to do wudhu
To wash away the junk, keep what’s true
Keep me focussed, clear my mind
So in my salaah, khushu I find

Ya Allah, make me do my wudhu
In a way that’s ever so true
Even if it’s from a running tap
Forgive me the wastage, rid me of crap

Ya Allah make the wudhu my shield
In my grave be my saviour
Let the wudhu be my toner
Let it be the best of cleanser

May the wudhu act as a seal
Free me from negative feels
Rid me of the whisperings of shaytan
So good he is at derailing me from iman

Let me be free from all ill trace
Let the nur reflect on my soul and face
Let the beauty of wudhu
Give solace and may joy shine through

Ya Rabb I thank my parents and spouse
For giving me foundation, so not to grouse
They gave me iman, he gave me time
So I keep on track, don’t fall in crime

Ya Rabb thank you for my siblings,
Their spouses and their offsprings
Thanks for my sons, I wish them well
May we all be free from the waft of hell

Ya Rabb thank you for my friends and clan
May Akhirah be visible in all our plans
May the wudhu give us a shining face
Sorrow and rancour leave no trace

Ya Rabb teach me the wudhu so sincere
Let it be the best of my gear
When I stand in salaah my focus be firm
Let there be no distraction, pollution or germ

Ya Rabb as I cross the bridge over hell
Make my wudhu act as gel
Armour me against the flames of fire
Truly it’s heaven I only desire

To see your face I truly yearn
This time I have to fully earn
If I can win in heaven a seat
It would be such a miracle, such a feat

Ya Allah let my wudhu be so real
The joy of my salaah I can really feel
Distractions and shaytan kept at bay
Khushu n kudhu in what I pray

Ya Rabb If only I learn to do my wudhu
Without it being heavy and a burden to do
May I find meaning in it and direction too
It will make my salaah wonderful too

I can also keep anger at bay
Stop the shaytan from having a say
The water so pure and full of healing
Wash away the sins, leave the best of feelings

Ya Rabb the day I learn to do my wudhu
In the way I’m supposed to do
My salaah will carry more meaning
Keep me away from all that is demeaning

Ya Rabb I pray for attention and ikhlas
Purify my intention, such a hard task
Ya Rabb, sort me out, clear the muck
The rituals and habits in which I’m stuck

Throw in mercy in my wudhu
Let my salaah be worthy of you
Let there be good in all that I do
Ya Rabb my love for you be ever so true
Ya Rabb in this test see me through
