Overcome will man be
As he faces death
And calamity strikes
As life begins to leave
Or
The condition of man
when death hovers overhead
Eyes close to exploding
And life constricting
Faces turning pale
Facing fear of death
Or
Eyes wide open terror stricken
Shrunk with life leaving
Colour drained faced with
The fear of death
See that instance
merciful faces
or fearful faces
Of the angels of death
Or
See a merciful face in that instant
Or terrifying face of Angel of death
Hands and feet turn lifeless
As life shrinks to the chest
And no longer a second left
For the ability to move
Or
Hands and feet will cramp up
As the breath contracts in the chest
No more the capacity to move
Instant by instant poor man
Rendered devastated
Or
Second by second the wretched
Wasted and undone, abject
No more time for the breath in the chest
Life breath will leave the chest
From every artery and vein
No further time left in the breast
Only for a flicker of an instant
The weak life breath seen in the eyes
And thereafter from the anxious eye
Life will depart
After death the eyes
Follow the direction
The ruh flies
As it looks back
Longingly at loved ones
Searching the beloveds
Be it a widow, a wife or
The orphaned children
Or the home overtaken
By strangers now
As the body becomes one with the earth
No wealth or offspring will help or serve
Just as bags of wealth were kept
under lock n seal
Who’s going to come see the corpse
In the earth asealed
Regret filled hearts to rue and woe
For their love of transient world
For those who yearned
Seeking glimpse of God
In the hardship of death
Will find ease
Look out for what will be
Our state in the grave
Look out when faced
With horror, left alone
As darkness swamps our space
Fear filled face over the unknown
Waiting for resurrection, repented
For how long the stay in the grave
Eons will pass by
No name no fame
No reality no trace
How will we face our Rabb
While judgment day
stretches endlessly
Some faces blackened
Others radiant
Some honoured
Others dishonored.
Hearts filled with fear
With what’s to happen
As scale of judgement
Is laid bare
May our hopes and sabr
Not be dashed
May we be to heaven
On the fast track
Those deserving of heaven
Will find it drawn near
Those worthy of hell
Will be in the vicinity of fire
For the faithful the mercy so special
From the reservoir of special mercy
For the deniers, God’s curse will be
Leave all that’s mundane oh man
Acquire what’s needed on judgment day
You’ll wish your sins were
Estranged and afar
And good deeds aplenty
To earn the Rasul’s intercession
Allah’s countenance desirous to see
Oh Faqir, may His mercy
Pour easily on me
